dsh-claude-tui is a terminal user interface client built exclusively for DeepSeek Harness, designed to replicate the popular Claude Code workflow in a lightweight, terminal-native environment. It can be launched immediately with a single npx command: npx --yes --legacy-peer-deps dsh-claude-tui after you install Node.js 22.19 or a newer release on your local system. No global install, local repository checkout, or manual configuration is required for first-time use, and the package pins its own compatible DSH dependencies to avoid common version conflicts. The --legacy-peer-deps flag skips unnecessary peer dependency resolution to speed up cold first installs.

This client is built for developers who prefer the Claude Code workflow and want to use DeepSeek Harness models in a pure terminal environment, whether working on a local machine or a remote development server. After launch, you can use the /provider command to enter your API credentials for your selected LLM provider, and use /model or the keyboard shortcut Alt+P to switch between available models and effort levels. For frequent repeated use, you can install it globally via npm and quickly resume previous saved sessions with the built-in --resume flag. It retains all core native DSH features including session management, tool approvals, and subagent execution.

This is an independent community project released under the open source MIT license, and it is not affiliated with or endorsed by either Anthropic or DeepSeek. All continuous integration testing is currently only run on Ubuntu, so while Windows has basic implemented features, it is not yet fully qualified for production use. macOS is supported but requires some optional system-level configuration for clipboard access. The current version pins to DSH 0.1.2-rc.1, and you must provide valid API credentials for your selected LLM provider on first run to start making model requests.

DSH Claude TUI

A Claude Code-style terminal workflow, powered by DeepSeek Harness.

Start in one command

Requires Node.js 22.19+ or 24+.

npx --yes --legacy-peer-deps dsh-claude-tui

That command installs and opens the TUI selected by npm's latest tag. You do not need a global dsh, a repository checkout, pnpm, or manual profile setup. To pin the current published release exactly, add @0.1.6 to the package name.

The legacy-peer-deps flag avoids npm's expensive resolution of unused upstream Web UI peers. It skips peer-conflict enforcement; this release explicitly includes the required TUI services and pins its DSH dependencies. The installed-package gate checks the complete npm ls --all tree and rejects missing, invalid, or conflicting dependencies. Plain npx dsh-claude-tui is also qualified with ordinary npm peer resolution, though a cold installation can take several minutes. The flag does not change the DSH runtime version or TUI behavior.
