Users can preview the import before running it, and the tool defaults to keeping the original Claude Code directory read-only to avoid accidental data modification. It never writes to the original source directory without explicit user approval.

The plugin is released under the permissive MIT open source license. Version 0.3.0 only supports official DSH versions between 0.1.5-rc.1 and 0.2.0, and will not run on older DSH releases. Currently, only Claude Code is supported as an import source from third-party agent tools, and only 7 of 30 Claude Code hook events are supported, with automatic mirroring disabled by default. Some functionality like vision image handling has not been fully tested with current DSH vision models, and there is no guarantee of a stable public API for external use.

Claude Code is the first source adapter in a multi-tool migration layer. Claude2DSH preserves the useful conversation structure, writes through DSH's native persistence APIs, and keeps the original Claude directory read-only by default.

[!IMPORTANT] 0.3.0 requires DSH >=0.1.5-rc.1 <0.2.0 and no longer starts on 0.1.0-rc.x. DSH 0.1.5 replaced the service-level session API with per-session handles and moved the Session log to format v3; 0.2.x releases predate that change. Upgrade the harness (npm install -g @deepseek-ai/dsh@latest) or stay on claude2dsh@0.2.0-rc.5.

Export and sync target a safe copy under $DSH_HOME by default. Concurrent edits pause instead of overwriting either side.
