dsh-model-router is a lightweight routing policy plugin built exclusively for DeepSeek Harness (DSH). DSH retains ownership of all core model management functions, including provider registration, credential storage, model catalogs, modality support, and retry logic, so the plugin only adds extra routing capabilities on top of DSH’s native infrastructure. It adds deterministic keyword-based model routing, an optional allowlisted model_route tool that is disabled by default, and a beta isolated channel for AI image generation. All provider configuration still happens through DSH’s native Models page, so users do not need to manage configuration outside DSH’s native interface.

This plugin is designed for DSH users who want to automatically switch between different large language models based on task type. Routing rules follow an ordered first-match policy: if a keyword matches, the session switches to the target model; if no match is found, the current model selection or DSH default remains active. Users configure routing rules in DSH’s Settings → Model Hub page, and can set rules like routing architecture or refactoring requests to DeepSeek V4 Pro while using cheaper Flash models for daily queries. It also supports subagent routing that only activates model selection after a rule match, and cleans up listeners automatically when the plugin is uninstalled.

The current release is v0.2.2, verified to work with DSH 0.1.0-rc.6. It currently only supports text model routing and beta-stage image generation, with video, audio, and 3D modalities not yet implemented. It is released under the permissive MIT open source license, and requires Node.js version 22.19.0 or higher, or 24.0.0 or newer, to build and run. To install from source, you can run corepack enable, pnpm install --frozen-lockfile, then pnpm build to generate a usable plugin package. The project is in active development, and welcomes contributions from developers experienced with DSH, TypeScript, security, and model routing.

dsh-model-router is a thin routing-policy plugin for DeepSeek Harness (DSH). DSH still owns providers, credentials, model catalogs, modalities, and retries. This plugin adds deterministic keyword routing, a default-off allowlisted model_route tool, and an isolated image_gen channel.

dsh-model-router 是 DeepSeek Harness（DSH）的薄路由策略插件。模型提供方、凭据、模型目录、模态能力和重试仍由 DSH 管理；本插件只增加确定性的关键词路由、默认关闭的白名单 model_route 工具，以及隔离的 image_gen 生图通道。

This is my first open-source repository and I am still learning plugin design, testing, security, documentation, and project maintenance.
