DeepSeek Harness Desktop is a native desktop client built exclusively for the official DeepSeek Harness (dsh) agent tool. It uses a "thin shell" design that hosts the official dsh web workbench in a native desktop window, without modifying or injecting any custom code into the upstream dsh. It only handles four core tasks: launching dsh web without a terminal, managing dsh lifecycle, updating the app itself, and managing dsh plugins. It shares the same ~/.dsh directory with the CLI version of dsh, so all sessions, credentials, and plugins are fully synced between the desktop app and terminal.

Unlike the official unreleased Electron-based dsh desktop client that bundles the full dsh runtime, this app does not include dsh itself. It only bundles the Node runtime, npm, and pnpm, resulting in a small installation package that is around 56MB for macOS DMG and 31MB for the Windows installer. It installs the official dsh from the npm registry on first launch, and lets users install any published dsh version, switch between versions, or roll back to an older version at any time. Upstream dsh releases do not require a new release of this desktop app, so users can always get the latest dsh immediately.

Currently, this app supports macOS arm64 and Windows x64 platforms, and requires no pre-installed development environment to run.
