dsh-strata is a native plugin built exclusively for the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) web GUI. It replaces DSH’s native scrollbar with a proportional, color-coded minimap that shows the entire trajectory of your current conversation session. It calculates band heights based on the actual rendered height of each row of conversation, rather than using evenly-spaced dots per prompt, so the size of each band accurately reflects how much content or work is in each section of the session. It fits into the existing scrollbar gutter of DSH’s transcript panel, so there are no unexpected layout shifts when the plugin activates.

This plugin is designed for DSH users who frequently work with long agent sessions and need to quickly navigate to key points. Different colors and band styles communicate what type of content each section holds: blue is for your messages, grey for model replies, red for failed turns, thin ticks for tool calls, and more. Clickable anchors next to the minimap let you jump directly to your messages or failed tool calls, and hovering an anchor opens a clue wall that displays all user messages in the session for even faster navigation.

dsh-strata is released under the open-source MIT license, and requires no external dependencies because it only uses existing DOM anchors and theme tokens exposed by DSH itself. It only activates on chat views with scrollable content, and automatically stands down on the Trajectory tab, so it never interferes with any other DSH interfaces. It hides DSH’s native turn rail by default to avoid overlap, but users can keep the native rail enabled by adding a simple localStorage entry and reloading the page.

Read the strata of a run.

A real minimap of the session trajectory for the DeepSeek Harness Web GUI — it takes the transcript's scrollbar seat and turns it into a scaled, colored picture of the whole loaded conversation, with your own messages emphasised and clickable anchors beside it.

Not a tick rail. Every other conversation navigator draws one evenly-spaced dot per prompt, which throws away the only thing a long agent session has too much of: volume. Here a band's height is the row's real rendered height, so the map is a proportional compression of the scroll extent — a 300-line answer looks like 300 lines, forty tool calls look like forty tool calls, and the viewport lens maps 1:1 onto the scrollbar. What you get is the shape of the run at a glance: where you spoke, how much work each prompt cost, and where it went wrong.

Grey block	a model reply; block height is how much it wrote
Thin grey tick	one tool call
Green	a slash command
Amber	a model retry, or a turn cut short by the output cap
Red	a failed turn — or any tool/command row that reported an error
Horizontal rule	a compaction checkpoint: where the model stopped seeing the history above
Rounded outline	the viewport lens (drag it)

The ragged left edge is the index: every blue bar is a turn you started, and the block of agent work under it is what that turn cost.
