dsh-skill-importer is a lightweight native plugin built exclusively for DeepSeek Harness (DSH) that adds full first-class skill management capabilities to the official DSH Web UI. To install the latest stable version of the plugin, run the command npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-skill-importer@latest in your local terminal. After the installation finishes completely, you will need to restart your running DSH Web instance to activate the new plugin. Existing users can run the same exact command to update the plugin, which will not remove or modify any of your already imported saved skills.

The core function of this plugin is to help users import, validate, deduplicate, and migrate existing agent skills from other popular AI coding agents into DSH. It natively supports importing skills from Claude Code, Codex, and any other AI agent that follows the common SKILL.md skill format convention. Users can import individual skills one at a time from a local SKILL.md file or a public HTTPS URL, or batch migrate an entire existing skill directory from another agent. The plugin pre-scans and validates all skills before starting the import, and handles name conflicts gracefully by skipping duplicate entries by default.

After you finish importing your skills, you have three different convenient ways to insert any imported skill directly into your DSH composer. You can open the built-in skill picker from the composer footer, use the /skills command to open the command palette, or type /skill-name directly to invoke a specific skill quickly. There are hard file and size limits on imports to keep DSH running smoothly: individual skill files are capped at 256KB, batch imports accept no more than 200 skills, and each skill can have no more than 2000 files and 10MB of total resources. This plugin is released under the permissive open-source MIT License.

dsh-skill-importer is a lightweight plugin for DeepSeek Harness (dsh). It turns skills into a first-class part of the Web UI: bring in Markdown from disk or a URL, see every installed copy, and insert a skill into the composer without breaking your flow.
