dsh-novel-forge is a DSH-native AI novel-writing plugin packaged as a "novel compile workbench." It is installed through the DSH Web profile with the command dsh plugin --profile web add @waterwx/dsh-novel-forge@alpha, where the @alpha tag is mandatory because every release on the current line is a prerelease; alternatively a local checkout can be linked and dsh web restarted so the "Novel Forge" entry appears in the sidebar. The panel ships in Simplified Chinese only with no language switcher, targets version 1.3.0-alpha, and consumes DSH peer 0.1.2-alpha.3 alongside Node ^22.19.0 || >=24.0.0. It writes prose only and never generates images or video, surfacing every step inside the sidebar rather than as a separate web app or CLI tool.

The intended workflow has three phases aimed at long-form Chinese web novel and Wuxia authors. In setup, a user imports an outline via docx, paste, or split-from-txt, registers multiple books on the bookshelf, and binds genre bases, style templates, anti-AI rules, and a market radar that scans public leaderboards for fresh creative briefs. In planning, volume and chapter plans capture goals, plot points, payoff-hooks, ending hooks, must-advance and must-preserve items, plus character hard facts; continuation mode reads the previous chapter ending and fact anchors, and the prompt slots inject capped style, anti-AI, dialogue, and ending-hook snippets that remain subordinate to the bible, red lines, and compliance. In review, the AI Editor Agent scores nine dimensions and emits a checkable issue list that drives one-click merged revisions, selective fixes, paragraph-level rewrites, and de-AI polish with diff-then-adopt semantics; plotline health, tension curves, story timelines, role-library knowledge asymmetry, chapter snapshots, and the persistent fact ledger support continuity across long serials.

Operationally, all AI calls draw from the configured LLM (default deepseek-official / deepseek-flash) and batch runs are strictly serial, so quota consumption scales linearly with chapter count and quality remains gated by outline completeness. State lives under ~/.dsh/: a bookshelf JSON, author and global asset files, and per-book output directories holding novel-project.json, chapter Markdown, .bak.md backups, snapshots/ (up to twenty per chapter, undoable), run-state.json, and novel-assistant.jsonl. Tension and timeline outputs are advisory by default; automatic revisions only fire on high-severity review findings and are capped at two rounds per chapter, the usage ledger is in-process and resets on restart, and the production-run flow supports checkpointing, resume, tiered decline handling, and adaptation mode that remaps or rewrites an existing full text into a new book. Engineering gates include pnpm typecheck, pnpm test (14 files / 152 cases), pnpm build, plus theme-size, fallback-tier, and third-party scanners; CI runs the same chain on Node 24 + pnpm 9 and pnpm release re-runs it before publishing, with a failing suite blocking the release.
