DSH Desktop is a local-first, cross-platform desktop application built specifically for DeepSeek Harness (DSH). It packages the full DSH experience into an installed native app that automatically starts the DSH runtime, and loads the complete DSH interface as soon as the local runtime is ready. It eliminates the need for running a separate CLI or keeping an open browser tab to interact with DSH, adding native host capabilities that improve the desktop experience. It currently supports macOS (both Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows x64, with code-signed installers for both platforms that follow each platform’s security standards.

There are two release channels: stable and preview. Most users should download the stable release from the official website for everyday use, while early adopters can grab preview releases from GitHub Releases to test the newest features. Preview releases closely track the latest upstream DSH versions, but may have compatibility issues with community plugins, so they are not recommended for general users. After installation, the app checks for updates shortly after startup and every six hours, and will only download and install updates after explicit user approval. Users can also manually check for updates or skip a specific version if they prefer.

DSH Desktop is released under the open source MIT license, though DeepSeek Harness and its upstream dependencies follow their own original licenses and trademark policies. It is currently an early preview build based on a rapidly evolving version of the official DSH runtime. For new Windows installs, users may see a security warning from Windows, which will gradually become less common as the app builds publisher reputation. It does not currently support Windows ARM64 or Linux, and all user data is stored locally following strict security boundaries to protect user privacy. DSH Desktop overview with portable presets, model providers, phone control, and editable PPT generation

Use official DeepSeek models or mainstream third-party providers, manage portable Agent presets, continue Harness sessions from your phone, and turn source material into editable PPTX decks.

DSH Desktop packages the local DeepSeek Harness experience as an installed desktop application. It starts Harness automatically, keeps profiles, plugins, workspaces, model settings, and sessions outside the application directory, and opens the full Harness interface as soon as the local runtime is ready.

[!IMPORTANT] DSH Desktop is an early preview built on the rapidly evolving @deepseek-ai/dsh@0.2.0-rc.2. macOS releases are code-signed and notarized by Apple. Windows x64 installers are code-signed; Windows security warnings may still decrease gradually as the publisher builds download and installation reputation.
