dsh-effort-slider is a UI-replacement add-on built specifically for the DeepSeek Harness desktop runtime, swapping the platform's default reasoning-effort dropdown for a floating energy slider that shows the model's real effort tiers, supports click/drag/keyboard adjustment, and adapts its visual feedback (stream, star-trail, incandescent core) per tier. It ships as a DSH-native bundle that integrates through a cordis.patch.yml patch mounted under <DSH_HOME>/plugins/, requires DSH Desktop ≥ 2.0.9, and is installed via dsh plugin add github:yuhub233/dsh-effort-slider or by copying the directory into the plugins folder; the repo includes a prebuilt lib/client.js so no local build is needed, after which DSH must be restarted to load the patch and to surface the slider in the input toolbar. This makes it best suited for advanced DSH users who want prompt-layer discipline, multi-agent delegation policies, and live throughput visibility without altering the model's real effort catalog.

Dependencies and limits are minimal: runtime has zero npm dependencies, needs only Node ≥ 22 for the optional rebuild, and writes only to <DSH_HOME>/storages/effort-slider.json while issuing no outbound network requests. Optional playbook skills (dispatching-parallel-agents, subagent-driven-development, verification-before-completion, systematic-debugging) live under skills/ and must be manually copied into ~/.dsh/skills/ because DSH does not scan plugin directories for skills, though the strategy text is self-contained if skipped. First-run caveats include Lightning's ~15× token cost, a 5-second turbo timeout, a 10-second tier-commit timeout that does not cancel the host operation, in-place plugin updates only taking effect after a DSH restart, and strict package-name consistency across package.json, cordis.patch.yml, the profile bundles entry, and the profile's node_modules junction.
